Nursing Resume Template Presenting Yourself Professionally

Jun 30 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

A nursing resume template is the key to making your resume reflect your proficiency in your career field. There is currently a nationwide shortage of competent nurses. Despite this shortage, your resume still needs to appear professional. You need to stand out, capture the employer’s attention. Employers consider quality to be better than quantity so do not assume they’ll hire you simply because they’re short-handed. Your resume functions as the first introduction between you and a potential employer. It should clearly state your skills, experience, and education matching these to the employer’s needs.

Nursing is a field where education, skills, experience, and professionalism meet. Every applicant will have similar training and education so you’ll need to find a way to stick out from the crowd. Employers are looking for self-starters, people who can bring ideas to improve the department and have the drive to make them happen. Don’t forget when describing your work duties to mention any achievements you earned or special skills you acquired. Include a list of your certificates and specializations; employers will be impressed by your well-rounded skill set. Remember that nurses do not only fill out paperwork and change IVs, they have constant contact with the patients and their families. Respect and empathy are key traits in successful nurses, features that should be stressed in your resume. A nursing resume template can help you emphasize your experience in the field and your value as an employee, by presenting your information in a easy to read, professional format.

Did you serve on any boards or committees in the past? Did you have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher? What about volunteering? Be sure to include that kind of information on your resume; extras like that are very appealing to employers.

When you have finished your resume, be sure to look it over from the perspective of the potential employer, tie your skills to their needs. Have a friend or family member scan your resume and see if they can identify key details within twenty seconds. If not, consider arranging information differently or highlighting specifics. Employers or hiring managers need to see at a glance that you’re the obvious front-runner for the job! A resume that doesn’t have a professional appearance can give the impression you’re not a serious applicant.

Today’s economic environment has created a drought for many career fields, but many medical careers are still seeing growth in the availability of jobs, nursing is one of them. Set yourself apart and present yourself professionally with a nursing resume template.

The Rich History and Present-Day Use of Spanish Tiles

Jun 30 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Spanish tiles have become a popular choice for people who opt to have their houses and buildings be made of durable, natural and convenient material. These tiles also boast of a rich history that has spanned centuries and various cultural influences.

As their name implies, Spanish ceramic tiles originated in Spain as far back as the 11th century. During this time, a boom in Spanish construction began, and a golden age of structures in the Iberian peninsula happened, spanning centuries until the 15th centuries. During this time, Arab culture also weaved a significant influence, especially in architecture. Thus, the tiles that are present in such feats like the Alhambra are very Spanish, yet undeniably heavily influenced by the Moors. But not only did the Arab invaders of the Middle Ages cast their influence in the design of these tiles, but actually, also in the production itself. They were the ones who introduced the technology making ceramics to the Spanish.

Moreover, they also introduced the inclusion of glaze to these tiles. With the glaze present in Spanish ceramic tiles, they became impermeable to moisture and dirt, and thus, more durable. Aside from that, the glaze also gave the tiles a base for colors and decoration to be put in their surfaces. This glaze was made of lead and a transparent glaze with metallic colors layering it. These tiles were first manufactured in the city of Malaga, in the current Spanish region of Andalucia. As for the design aspect, the Arab influence can still be seen today, with a lot of ceramic tiles displaying a lot of intricate designs and colors.

Aside from the Alhambra mentioned earlier, which was completed in the 14th century, other structures that contained Spanish tiles were the Great Mosque located in Seville, which was completed in the twelfth century and other grand Muslim monuments in the region followed. However, due to the rise in Catholicism in the 15th century, a lot of these Muslim structures were either destroyed or converted into Catholic structures. The Spanish tile industry was also transferred from Malaga to Manises in the region of Valencia, which only furthered the popularity of the tiles, as the center of their manufacture was moved out of Andalucia.

These days, contemporary Spanish tiles are very diverse, with some displaying very elaborate décor and colors, perfect for mosaics, while some have more contemporary textures imitating other materials like wood. One concern that most people have with these tiles is their cost, which a lot of people attribute to their exotic origin. Actually, the real reason that these tiles may be more costly than other tile kinds is their high quality and durability. These tiles are very flexible and versatile, as their different finishes allow them to be used in different settings, from the bathroom to the kitchen and patios. They are also available in different sizes, with the larger ones more suitable for kitchens and the smaller ones for bathrooms or for wall and floor mosaics in larger areas like shopping centers and other wide spaces.

The Marvelous Past and The Magnificent Present of Delhi City

Jun 30 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Delhi being the national capital of India is the arrival point for overseas travelers. The city is on the major national and international airline routes which make it accessible from other parts of India and the world. Delhi has a well developed metro rail system. The city serves as an important transportation hub close to the tourist places and pilgrimage centers in other north Indian states.

Delhi is the first apex destination of the famous Golden Triangle Tour that covers three most amazing cities including Jaipur and Agra and portrays the true essence of north India. Not just an important transportation centre, Delhi itself promises a never before travelling experience to its curious visitors from India and abroad.

Delhi has been a heritage capital of India, witnessing the rise and downfall of seven dynasties. The historical significance of the city dates back to the 13th century, when the city was known as Indraprastha, the capital of the Pandavas.Later during the 16th and 17th centuries, the Mughal rulers made Delhi their capital. The love of Mughal rulers for the city is reflected in the architectural relics that are ubiquitous throughout the old and new parts of the city. These architectural marvels also bear testimony to the love of the Mughal emperors for art and culture. Even the tombs of the Mughal era have sprawling lush green parks and gardens around them, which are famous tourist spots of today. The Mughal era monuments include The Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar which speak volumes about the magnificence of the Mughal era architectural style. Mughal emperor Shahjahan is the most famous of all the Mughal emperors for his special love and liking for art and architecture. The emperor is known for creating the Taj Mahal at Agra, a symbol of eternal love. The famous Red Fort, and Jama Masjid are to his credit. Later during the 17th and 18th centuries, Delhi witnessed the British colonial rule in India. After becoming the imperial capital of the British rulers, the city witnessed a transformation in the architectural styles. European architectural styles dominated the sprawling landscapes of the city.

During the 1920′s, British architect Edwin Lutyens developed Lutyen’s Delhi with predominant European styled avenues and official buildings. The outstanding example of European architecture is the Indian Parliament House, the India Gate, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Central Secretariat. These architectural developments separate the new part from the old rambling city with its tapering by lanes of old Mughal era marketplaces. This new part of the city became the national capital of India after independence. Sometimes its hard to believe that such a developed metropolis still retains its ancient character that is centuries old.

Today’s Delhi is a sprawling metropolitan city that reflects the true soul of north Indian culture. The capital is a bustling commercial and political centre of the country. The city has a wide performing arts scene, with many theatres and theatre groups present. Many museums and art galleries provide an insight into the rich historical and cultural heritage of India. Many cultural and music festivals keep happening from time to time in the city. The city also holds national and international export fairs every year. Shopping in Delhi is an ultimate fun filled experience. From glitzy multi brand shopping malls to cheap flea markets spread across the entire city, the shopping arena has a multi faceted character where one can buy from the most traditional to the fanciest of items. Not just shopping, one can have the finest of dining experiences in the city. The city boasts of some of the finest multicuisine restaurants in the world serving delectable Indian and continental cuisines. The local eateries and flavors of the old city are also savored by the local population.

To enjoy a perfect sojourn in the city, the hospitality industry in Delhi offers low range budget accommodations for its budget travelers and backpackers. Budget hotels in Delhi provide the best of modern amenities at the most affordable prices. These hotels serve luxury at economy.

Many cheap hotels in Delhi are located at Paharganj opposite New Delhi railway and metro stations. Paharganj is the hub of budget hotels, and family owned guest houses in Delhi. The place derives its name from nearby Raisin hills where the present day Rashtrapati Bhavan stands. Paharganj also houses an export market known for cheap goods, internet cafes and travel agencies.

Commercial Real Estate Agents – Why You Need a Top Sales Pitch and Presentation

Jun 14 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

In commercial real estate sales and leasing, you need to develop a good sales pitch and presentation system. The entire process needs to be unique to you and relevant to your property type. In this way you can tap into the opportunities that each client and property presents.

It is no secret that the current property market has challenges of various types including slower rates of enquiry, competition from other agents, and a general abundance of unsold or vacant properties. The time on market to achieve a result is also generally longer in most cases and with most properties. For these very reasons, every property that is taken to the market for sale or for lease needs to be carefully considered and matched into the required strategies and solutions that you know will bring about the best results. On this basis, your presentation or sales pitch really does need to drill down into the key factors that are appropriate for the property and the client.

Here are some key reasons to develop your pitch and practice your presentation system.

  1. You need to show confidence and relevance when it comes to every property listing presentation. In the first instance the confidence and relevance will be directly applicable to the property, and secondly applicable to you as a specialist local real estate agent. Taking the property to the market is not an experiment and on that basis correct choices need to be shown and made.
  2. Give good strategies to the client based on the property type, price, rent, marketing, location, and the competition. The client should be briefed on the trends of the current property market and where their property will sit amongst the competition.
  3. Show the various marketing solutions and alternatives that are available. Your successes with other properties of similar type should be explained and illustrated. If you have worked on any properties similar to this one, show the client what you did, and how it worked.
  4. Identify the target market so the client can clearly see the type of tenant or buyer that you will be focusing on. Explain to them how you will be tapping into that target market and what the target market expects of properties today. To help the discussion, you can add photographs of the subject property and similar properties to a slide show and have that running on your laptop during the discussion. Simple pictures are worth 1000 words.
  5. The marketing of a property today is more direct and personal. It takes real effort on the part of the salesperson to achieve a good property outcome for the client. The days of generic advertising and waiting for a result are well gone. Show the client how you will be doing specific things relevant to the property, and what feedback you will provide as part of the process.
  6. Tell the client about current property enquiry and show them the size of your database. It is likely that you can take qualified prospects in your database to the property even before the advertising commences. Tell the client of the activity and opportunity so they can see the extra value that you bring to the listing.
  7. Remove the competitors as potential threats to your listing by being remarkably better and different in the presentation. The property owner or client wants the best agent that can solve their property pain quickly and effectively. Develop your strategy clearly so that the client can see that you are the best solution to help them.
  8. Address the clients concerns as part of your presentation. The client will have issues and key questions that need resolve as they take their property to the market. Hopefully you will have identified those in earlier discussions or perhaps the inspection of the property with the client. That will then allow you to merge your answers into the final pitch and presentation process. Relevance is everything in solving their problems.
  9. Give the client a process to proceed so they can see the road ahead in solving their property problems. One of the best tools available for this process is a Gantt chart. You can build your entire listing, marketing, and inspection process and presentation through the display of a Gantt chart. It helps the client see exactly what is going to occur and why. It puts stages to the process, and logic to the listing decisions made. One simple Gantt chart will do more for your listing presentation than 50 pages of words in some stuffy proposal.

So all of these things come together effectively and efficiently to help your sales pitch and presentation process. Develop a model that works for you and the property type that you specialise on. Very soon you will find that your listings are converting better than those of your competition. Always remember to seek exclusive listings for a reasonable period of agency appointment. Open listings are a waste of time and an exercise in luck. Any client that wants to list their property openly across a number of agencies is conducting an experiment in marketing that will usually fail.

Father’s Day Present – Freedom From Fear and Attachments

Jun 13 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Finding the perfect gift for Dad is difficult any year, but for Father’s Day 2009, the challenge is particularly daunting. We may be strapped for cash ourselves, and many of our father’s have lost their jobs. Others have seen their retirement nest egg crack, and are struggling with fears of what the current economy will mean for them and the survival of their family. They are attached to the security of the old days, when they worked hard, kept their job, and retired with their nest egg.

When unexpected losses occur, it can mean some scrambling to adjust, but this doesn’t mean that our dads have to continue suffering. It may be hard to grasp, but what’s causing our fathers to suffer is not so much their actual losses as it is the thoughts they are having about those losses. This includes worries about what might happen or thoughts that things should be different. Suffering ends when a person learns to let go of these thoughts and enjoy what they do have, like a loving spouse or child, their health, or the beautiful grandchild rushing to greet them.

This doesn’t mean a denial of the facts, but it does mean being present with all the blessings that they still have. In Living a Peaceful Life, I share how my father-in-law, Bill who was diagnosed with cancer a few months after retiring, struggled for four years before dying. But during this time, Bill described these years as the most wonderful time of his life, because he surrounded himself with his wife, children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, and nephews. Though there was much physical pain, Bill experienced great joy and wouldn’t have traded the last four years of his life for anything.

The classic necktie gift just doesn’t seem to cut it in 2009. This Father’s Day, perhaps the greatest gift we can give our own dad, and other fathers that we know, is to help them replace their need for security and certainty with savoring and delighting in all they have now. We can help them do this by being aware of their struggle, and letting them know that it is who they are, not what they have achieved, that matters most to us, their children. We can support, and encourage them to follow these three helpful tips:

1. Live and enjoy today.
2. Celebrate all the blessings you have now.
3. Stop giving mental airtime to fears of what might happen or yearnings for things to be different.

Tips on Presenting Pricing in Your Menu

Jun 12 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

The menu for your restaurant reflects your business’ image. Your menu is the first thing that you present to your customers, it is essential that it to be dynamic and updated in order to keep them interested. Therefore, plan for your menu and design it to be attractive and functional. One of the important aspects of designing a menu is its pricing. Below are few guidelines that can assist you in suitably pricing the restaurant menu.

• When determining the pricing in the menu it is important to consider the type of clientele you will be hosting. Your pricing should reflect your client’s class factor. Even in the time of economic downturn, customers that generally visit high-end restaurants are willing to spend. They also expect to be treated as if they were in a high-end place. Therefore, you should price your menu accordingly and give them what they want. It is always better to present the pricing in a clean form by rounding off the cents and decimal points.

• Next, it is important to get just the right price for each of your menu selections. Take your time to settle on menu prices that will escalate your profits. Pricing a menu too low will give you trouble in covering the costs and in the end you will hardly make any profit. On the contrary, if a menu price is too high, you are likely to lose prospective customers and not get good volume for your business. Therefore, you should balance out with prices that are competitive yet profitable.

• While pricing your menu, always keep the customer’s perspective in mind. You should never use the dollar sign at the end of the prices on the menu, as it reminds the diners that they are about to spend their money. This can prove distressing for your customers. Therefore, it is best to leave it off. Design your menu in such a way that customers see the delectable spread of food items in the forefront and the pricing takes a backseat.

• Some diners are extremely price conscious as they go through a menu. In order to attract such customers you can offer a “chefs special” or “house special” items at a discounted rate for a limited span of time. You can also offer a discount dinner for a certain number of people that includes entry, dessert and beverage. Discounts give diners a feel that they are getting a good deal.

• Lastly, you should understand the psychology behind pricing. For most customers, paying $15.95 is considered a better deal than paying $16.00. This old marketing trick works well to help diners relax and feel that the price is worth paying for the service they are receiving.

Enhancing the design of the menu is an excellent way to bring more customers to your business. Pricing in your menu is the detrimental factor in turning potential customers into profitable customers. Therefore, you must carefully price the items in your menu.

Presentation Skills: Should You “Dumb It Down” for Your Audience?

Jun 11 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

The question “Do you think I should dumb it down for this group?” pops up all too often from those making technical presentations. When I hear it, I’m tempted to respond, “No, I recommend that you smarten up the speaker.” (Pardon the grammar and the sarcasm.)

Why does this question sound so arrogant? It assumes that if the audience doesn’t understand, the communication problem is theirs. Einstein thought otherwise: “Most of the fundamental ideas of science are essentially simple, and may, as a rule, be expressed in language comprehensible to everyone.” (from The Evolution of Physics)

Obviously, speakers who can think of only one way to express a complex situation or issue are limited by their technical education and focus. Others with a broader understanding, more creativity, wider experiences, and a larger vocabulary can express the idea or issue in multiple ways so that others outside the narrow technical field can grasp the concept.

Take petaflops, for example. I could explain petaflops this way for a technical audience:

A petaflop is the ability of a computer to do one quadrillion floating point operations per second (FLOPS). A petaflop can be measured as one thousand teraflops. The world’s fastest supercomputer today, Titan, is capable of 20 petaflops. Titan was developed at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee.

Or, I could explain petaflops like this for those unfamiliar with the computing field:

A petaflop refers to the computing speed computers do various calculations. A petaflop is the ability to do one quadrillion (a million billion) calculations per second. (The FLOPS acronym stands for “floating point operations per second.”) A petaflop computer requires such a massive computing ability that you need a massive number of smaller computers working in parallel on the same problem or computation. Such petaflop computers and calculations are used for MRIs in surgery or to put people and objects into space.

The world’s fastest supercomputer today, Titan, developed at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, is capable of 20 petaflops. This supercomputer is capable of processing 20,000 trillion calculations per second.

To put it another way, according to, it would take 60,000 years for 1,000 people working at rate of one calculation per second to complete the number of calculations that Titan can do each second.

Communicating a concept clearly and credibly for all audiences has little to do with “dumbing down” content. It has everything to do with the skill and creativity of the presenter in making the information relevant and meaningful to the audience. Smarten up about dumbing down. Don’t do it. Instead, get creative in communicating clearly.

Effective Presentations – What to Do With Your Hands

Jun 10 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Many people ask me what to do with their hands when they are making their presentations. Let me offer some suggestions on how to make best use of your hands

1) Use your hands to invite the audience to accept your point

This is done by keeping your hands open and your palm pointing upwards. This is more effective if you only use one hand. Remember, you are only inviting them, not begging for forgiveness

2) Keep Your Fingers Open

This is particularly valid when you let your hand hang by your side. This position looks more natural

3) Avoid putting your hand in your pocket

If you do, you may be tempted to fiddle with loose coins. The interesting rhythms this action generates can be very distracting

4) Avoid closing your hands firmly

This projects a protective or aggressive image, which can be the result of lack of confidence. On the other hand, leaving both your hands dangling loosely, like two dead fish by your sides, maybe interpreted as lack of enthusiasm

5) Avoid holding your hands in front of you or rubbing them

This forms a protective barrier which separates you from the audience. It is also another way of saying: “I am telling you a lie and I am too scared.”

6) Use a pointer to keep one of your hands busy

Use it to help the audience focus on specific points on your visual aid

7) Avoid pointing with one finger at the audience

Politicians often do this when delivering aggressive speeches, or giving out warnings. Avoid this is a wise choice, because it can make the audience feel threatened or even offended

8) Co-ordinate your hand movements with your words

Whatever you decide to do with your hands, it is very important to time your movements with your words, otherwise they will look mechanical. The movement also has to be relevant to what you are saying. There is nothing more irritating and maybe even hilarious than making a point, then following it with the relevant gesture a few seconds later.
